The images below were compiled and created with Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator. Advanced techniques such as lighting, color changes, environment changes, etc., can be viewed in the slideshows below along with the original images where applicable.
Iron Man Effects
The effects of this project were created with artificial light sources and custom brushes. Layered debris adds depth to the image while the vertical gradients provide a unique feel.
The Timekeeper Composite
With this image, the task was to take the studio image and transition him to an interesting environment. Placing him in an this alley worked well with detailed masking. The addition of the red tinted lights added suspense to the composite. Finishing touches with add-ins in Photoshop were utilized to give the image an animated feel.
Landscape Alteration Composite
The goal of this composite was to modify a landscape giving it a different feel such as time or temperature. I decreased the Sun's rays to give the mountains more emphasis and added a cooler feel by bringing out the blues and purples. Then, I added an artist painting the modified landscape on canvas with brushed appearance.
Ena the Ballerina
This project is a photo restoration and color that was laid out for poster printing. The original picture had pinholes, seams, corners ripped off, and was a black and white image.
Classmate Portrait
A simple cell phone classroom shot, turned into a vintage trading card style portrait. Brandon said he was into the G.I. Joe's, so I pursued that theme with his transition. I used extensive masking and overlays to get the image's various tones to blend correctly. Then, removed logos from both sides of the jacket and replaced them with an Army name patch.
Mythical Beast Composite This project combined two animals, one with horns and one without. To complete this composite, I used advanced masking techniques to capture the fine hairs of the animals and blend them with realism. Retouching several locations on this composite decreased distractions and artifacts from the original lion image. Lastly, I used aftermarket add-ins to apply finishing touches to the entire image.
